In her photography book and project “Strawberry Jam”, Sybilla Patrizia explores the fetishization of and obsession with youthfulness in contemporary Japanese mainstream culture which is expressed, for example, in the performance of various cute aesthetics by some underage and adult women along with female media representations in advertisements, manga or video games. This series aims to show the craze for youth and cuteness from a variety of sub- and mainstream cultures; from the intricate world of lolita and decora girls in Harajuku, to the fixation of Japanese media with the school girl character and her uniform, as well as popular cosmetic beauty ideals which aim to make women appear younger and cuter.

この「ストロベリージャム」という写真集およびプロジェクトでは、現代日本のメインストリームカルチャーにおける若さへのフェティシズムと執着とを追究している。この傾向は、少女や大人の女性の自己表現や、広告メディア、マンガ、ビデオゲームにおける女性の描かれ方に見られる。この写真集では、原宿のロリータガール、デコラガールの複雑な世界から、制服姿の女子中高生、女性をより若く、よりかわいらしく見せようとする美容の理想像まで、日本の様々な文化における若さ、かわいらしさへの情熱を見ることができる。
