TYPOGRAPHY IS TWO-DIMENSIONAL ARCHITECTURE
This practice work is a result of the typography class of Dr. Mariko Takagi at the Academy of Visual Arts/ Hong Kong Baptist University.
The theme of this excercise was to create a poster and visually interpret a quote from designer Hermann Zapf, using both Chinese and English. The idea of this poster was to deconstruct the Chinese characters like a architectual structure in order to highlight some of the raw framework and the various parts used to write these individual charachters.
“Typography is two-dimensional architecture, based on experience and imagination, and guided by rules of readability.”
